My name is Dane Beckett and I am the Owner of Dane's Lawn Mower Repair. I grew up near Ripley, WV. Here are a few things that I want you to know about me. I have been a mechanic my entire life. I was one of those boys who's father came home to find things laying around the house in pieces, just so I could figure out how they worked. I took an Industrial electricity class in high school VO-TECH so I could better understand that aspect of things. I spent 6 years in the US Army. While there, 3 years was spent working as a mechanic and crew chief on OH-58 Helicopters, which gave me great experience in how to maintain and repair things correctly. You can't just pull a Helicopter off to the side of the road at 3000 feet if something goes wrong! I left the Army for a while, but went back later for 3 more years, where I worked as a mechanic on the Bradley Tank. That was more good experience.
I worked for "Skydive Greene County" in Xenia, OH for a few years working on twin engine Beech 18 aircraft. I loved to skydive, and fly back then, and had the best of all worlds in that environment. Thanks Jim!
I started tinkering with Computers in the 90's and got to be very very good at it. I had all of my friends and their friends bringing me computers to work on. It got to the point I could fix anything that came along. Everyone started telling me I should open my own little shop. So, I eventually did in Jacksonville, FL. It went exceptionally well, and I operated it for a few years before getting married to a Lady from my home state of West Virginia. So, I closed the doors and came back home. I attempted to get back into the Computer Biz here, but there wasn't the demand that I had in Florida, and honestly it didn't work out.
I've always treated customers like I want to be treated. I know there isn't anyone out there that likes to pay to get things repaired. But for whatever reason, it has to be done sometimes. When it comes to your lawn equipment, that's where I want to come in. I want to give people the best bang for their buck. I'm not the largest operation around, but don't let that fool you. As my slogan says, I want you to have ... "FAST DEPENDABLE SERVICE AT PRICES YOU CAN AFFORD". I promise to do whatever needs to be done to provide just that.
